Indian Air Force Officially Published an employment Recruitment Notification for filling up 334 vacancies in AFCAT (02/2021) for Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches and NCC Special Entry for Courses Commencing in July 2022.

1. AFCAT Entry

  • Flying Branch: 96 posts
  • Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: 137 posts.
  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical): 73 posts.

2. NCC Special Entry

 

  • Flying Branch: 10% seats in CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats in AFCAT vacancies for SSC
 
3. Meteorological Penetration

  • Meteorological Branch: 28 posts

Indian Air Force Recruitment 2021 Eligibility Criteria


Age Range

(A) Flying Branch: Birth on 01 July 2022, between 20 and 24 years i.e. 02 July 19 to 01 July 2002 (both dates included). There is a relaxation of up to 26 years in the upper age limit for candidates holding a valid and current commercial pilot license issued by DGCA (India), ie those born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2002 (both dates included).

(B) Ground Duty (Technical / Non-Technical) Branches: Born on 01 July 2022 between 20 to 24 years i.e. 02 July 19 to 01 July 2002 (both dates included).

(i) Flying Branch:
 
Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 level with minimum 60% marks in Mathematics and Physics and
(A) Graduation from a recognized university with minimum three years degree course in any discipline with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
or
(B) BE / B.Tech degree (four years course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
or
(C) Candidates who have passed Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with minimum 60% marks or equivalent from a recognized University.
 
(ii) Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:

(AA) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}. Candidates with a minimum of 60% marks in each in Physics and Mathematics at 10 + 2 level and minimum four years degree in Engineering / Technology from recognized university, Graduate / Integrated Post Graduate qualification or Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers ( India) or Graduate Membership Examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, actual studies with minimum 60% marks or equivalent in the following subjects: -
(AAA) Communication Engineering.
(AAB) Computer Engineering / Technology.
(AAC) Computer Engineering and Applications.
(AAD) Computer Science and Engineering / Technology.
(AAE) Electrical and Computer Engineering.
(AF) Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
(AAG) Electrical Engineering.
(Ah) Electronics Engineering / Technology.
(Today) Electronics Science and Engineering.
(Aka) Electronics.
(AL) Electronics and Communications Engineering.
(Common) Electronics and Computer Science.
(AN) Electronics and / or Telecommunications Engineering.
(AAO) Electronics and / or Telecommunications Engineering (Microwave). (AAP) Electronics and Computer Engineering.
(AAQ) Electronics Communications and Instrumentation Engineering. (AR) Electronics Equipment and Control.
(AAS) Electronics Equipment and Control Engineering.
(AAT) Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
(AAU) Instrument and Control Engineering.
(AAV) Information Technology.
(AB) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}. Candidates with minimum 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics at 10 + 2 level and minimum four years degree in Engineering / Technology from recognized university, Graduation / Integrated Post Graduate qualification or Passed Section A and B examination of Associate Membership Minimum 60% in the following subjects Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual study with marks or equivalent: -
(AAA) Aerospace Engineering.
(AAB) Aeronautical Engineering.
(AAC) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
(AAD) Mechanical Engineering.
(AAE) Mechanical Engineering and Automation.
(AF) Mechanical Engineering (Production).
(AAG) Mechanical Engineering (Repair and Maintenance).
(Ah) Mechatronics.
(Today) Industrial Engineering.
 
(iii) Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches:

(AA) Administration and Logistics: Bachelor's degree (minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent or passed in A and B examination of Associate Membership of Engineer Institute (India) Or Aeronautical Society of India with at least 60% marks or equivalent from a recognized university.
(AB) Accounting: B.Com degree (minimum three years degree course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
(AC) Education: MBA / MCA or MA / MSc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International Relations / International Studies / Defense Studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relations Minimum 50% marks in all papers put together in post-graduation (minimum two-year program) and 60% marks in graduation, (both recognized by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority). For integrated courses (single degree without exit and lateral entry permission), the minimum duration should be as per the prevailing guidelines of the UGC, with a minimum of 50% marks in all papers overall.

(iv) NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch):
 
NCC Air Wing Senior Division 'C' certificate obtained on or after 01 January 17 is mandatory. Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 with minimum 60% marks in Mathematics and Physics. Graduation from a recognized university with minimum three years degree course in any discipline with minimum 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE / B.Tech degree (four years course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or its equivalent or candidates who pass the Section A and B examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Associate Membership of Aeronautical Society of India. Should be A recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
 
(v) Meteorological Entry:

Master's degree in any science stream / Mathematics / Statistics / Geography / Computer Applications / Environmental Sciences / Applied Physics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology and Environment / Geophysics / Environmental Biology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Papers put together with (provided mathematics and physics are studied at the undergraduate level, with a minimum of 55% marks in each).

AFCAT Application Fee (02/2021)

Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250 / - (non-refundable) as examination fee. However, candidates who register for NCC special entry are not required to pay.
